We are dedicated to preserving East High School’s legacy while fostering its future.
From supporting current students through scholarships to connecting alumni around the world, the East Angel Foundation is a community committed to ensuring that every East Angel has the opportunity to succeed.
The Foundation raises funds through generous gifts from parents and alumni, grants, and community support to fill the financial gap faced by East High School.
Programs
Arts, academics, and access come first.
In 2025-26 the Foundation approved 39 Classroom Grants for over $80,000, funding academics, arts, and counseling to empower every East Angel. Here is where that money goes.

Arts & Performing Arts
Sheet music and a new piano for Instrumental Music, framing for the Visual Arts permanent gallery in East's halls, guest artists for Theater, Dance, Choir, and Visual Arts, and new stage lighting in the Auditorium.

Student needs like class fees, books, and AP test fees are now met through Classroom Grants (formerly the Student Assistance Fund). The East Angel Pantry provides nutritious food to students and their families.

Scholarship spotlight
Cora Smith
DePaul University2025 scholarship recipient
Class of 1967, 1968, and 1969 Scholarship — $5,000
Cora Smith received the Class of 1967, 1968, and 1969 Scholarship in 2025 and attends DePaul University. At East, she was Head of Lighting for theatre productions and a four-year technical performer, a member of NHS, and recipient of "Best Senior Project – Theatre." She volunteered with local museums and brought passion and precision to every performance.
