Programs

# Preserving East High's history through projects and programs.

The History and Historic Preservation Committee safeguards East High School's rich heritage by curating exhibits, preserving architectural elements, maintaining records, and hosting educational programs and tours for students, alumni, and the community.

The gymnasium scoreboard. An original hand-operated wooden scoreboard, lettered EAST and VISITORS, still mounted in the East High gymnasium — one of the in-place artifacts documented under the committee's historic preservation review. Select the photo to zoom in on the details.

## Artifacts in place

Some of East's history has never left the building.

Alongside the Tower History Museum's collection, original fixtures like the gymnasium's wooden EAST and VISITORS scoreboard remain where generations of Angels first saw them. Documenting and protecting these in-place artifacts is part of the committee's historic preservation review.
